A performer, teacher and choreographer from New Jersey, Farasha began her dance career in Harrisburg, PA in the early 1980's as a member of Troupe Kismet, appearing in the Harrisburg Arts Festival and Musicfest in Bethlehem. In New Jersey, she danced with the Moon & Star Dance troupe. She was a former member of Morocco’s Casbah Dance Experience, which performed at Lincoln Center, NYC and Cairo, Egypt, among many other venues.
Farasha has conducted dance lecture/demos for various educational and community groups, including the Girl Scouts, Rutgers University, public libraries, and the College of New Jersey.
Farasha also teaches adaptive bellydance classes for individuals with disabilities at the Alliance Center for Independence. She co-produces master dance seminars with Su'ad, including Fall Fantasia in New Jersey and the Master Dance Series in Connecticut. Farasha is featured in the book Belly Laughs
and is producer of the late Ibrahim Farrah's final concert video, A Journey. She is also project manager of a semi-annual World and contemporary dance symposium series at Rutgers University-Newark.
Farasha is artistic director of the Mystic Moonlight Dancers, a dedicated Middle Eastern Dance troupe from the Ocean County, NJ area.
